Seven years ago, I made a vow to love and honor the person I would choose to marry for the rest of my life. As these years went by, my husband and I experienced a lot of things together. Within those years, each and every day we realized how lucky we were we have each other. Although, through our marriage lives, we have ups and downs, but since we have each other, we can able to make it through it all. This year is another year for us to celebrate our wedding vow. During our anniversary, this is a time to look back at the good times and a time to look ahead to live our dreams together. It doesn’t matter where you go in life, what you do, it’s who you have beside you that matters.

On this our anniversary, we may not have wealth, but we do have each other and that is worth more than anything in the world. Though, this is our first anniversary that we’re not with each other physically, but in our hearts we’re always side by side. With our love, trust, partnership, tolerance and tenacity, we can do it all.
I still vividly remember those moments the first we’ve met. It was beautiful feeling. We’ve began as strangers. We became friends. We became one with each other when we realized we can’t live without each other and that celebration continues to this day, as we remain as one forever.

I got Drake Internet to check the weather and email family but it’s turned into something altogether different for me. I love the thought of using it to be productive but I’ll be darned if I don’t just get online to shop every night! I have always had a thing for shoes and there are so many great sites to explore I just can’t pull myself away. Have you ever heard of Zazzle? They’ve got a bazillion pairs of shoes online and they offer free shipping so if they don’t fit you can just send them back. I love being well dressed and unfortunately for my wallet the internet makes that all too easy. I even have to hide shoes in my car because I’m afraid if my husband finds out he’s going to divorce me – that’s how much money I’ve spent in the last few weeks on shoes! It’s getting kind of ridiculous, to be honest with you. I can’t believe I spend so much time and money online looking at clothes.

Our Christmas Tree is UP!

My husband and I were thinking of celebrating this Christmas by putting up a tree, decorate them and out gifts under it. It’s been almost 7 years that we haven’t done anything like this as a couple, even until we have two kids. Now, I decided to make a change. I don’t know if it’s something to do with the loss of my mother in law that I missed so much, or maybe something that my children would love to do.
So, I went to the store and bought a pre-lit Christmas tree. Then, I bought silver and blue ornaments, and also some blue lights to go with our little separator by our kitchen and living room area. I also bought some multicolored lights to make the Christmas tree more appealing and attractive.

The tree turns out good. My husband wasn’t here but I sent him some pictures! He loved it! I love the tree too. My son was getting so excited about it. He was seemed hooked with Christmas lights. He wanted it to be on all the time which was not a good idea, I guess.

Anyway, here’s our first Christmas tree! It’s simple, yet it is good enough to celebrate the holiday season. I also got our gifts ready! I bought those gifts online and when they were delivered one by one, I wrapped them as soon as I get them so that I won’t be crazy when I have them all at once. I don’t have any help.

My husband is a wonderful man but bless him, he just doesn’t understand my hobby of exercise. He would much rather sit on the couch and watch a game than get out and about and ride a bike or run down the street and if it were up to me, I’d be moving all the time. I know it sounds crazy but he’s all about not having to do anything if he doesn’t have to. I got us a adt security systemfor the house since I’m practically never home but he never even sets it since when he’s not working, he IS home. All the time! I don’t know how we hit it off so many years ago because we’re truly so, so different but I guess we compliment each other in many ways, too. If it weren’t for my husband I wouldn’t have the opportunity to be so active and I can really thank him for that – he’s the perfect match for me because opposites really do attract, you know?

Feeling Blue and Missing my Hubby

It’s Sunday today and my husband just left for work. He’s going to be away from us for approximately 90 days! However, I will be going to my home country though Philippines, so I’m sure we will not be seeing each other longer than that. I’m excited about my trip since I plan to stay there with our kids for 3 months. Then, he will fly over there to stay for two weeks and go home with us.

Anyway, he just left today, but I already felt so alone and blue. He left me with our two kids’ ages 4 and 2 months old. I know he’s going to come back, but it feels like forever! Well, I don’t have anyone to share what I was feeling today and to express it just to ease the heaviness.

But I found this song which reminds me that my husband went there to have a purpose. I know he’s proud of being one. This was perfect of what I was feeling today….

Meet our New Bundle of Joy

Last July 1st, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She weighed 7 pounds 2.5 ounces and 19 and quarter inches tall. Having a new baby in our house was seemed so new to us. We had our first born child last 2007 and having a new baby was quite new for us. You know those sleepless nights.

Good thing my husband doesn't have to go to work yet because it is summer time here in US. No school yet. I'm so glad he was here with me to help me out especially while I'm recovering from having a c-section surgery. It was tough at first few days, I was just so overwhelm, but seeing my baby and my son I was happy and feel content. I know I can do it and everything would change. I was right. My daughter was getting so big each and everyday. She just turned 2 months old last September 1st.

Everyone in our house was still adjusting for the first dew days. My son as well which he was seemed not expecting that there will be a new baby in the house. Though, we keep on telling him about it when I was still pregnant. He was still adjusting and as the days went by, he's getting used to it. My husband and I were quite learning how to respond to him about his little sister. So, I think that's a good thing for both of them.

Now, we're family of four and I guess this is good enough for me! I'm so happy of having these precious kids in my life. I thank God for them each and everyday!

A lot of you might be wondering what's going on with Couple's Love Book? What's new? It's been a long time since I haven't done anything on my blog here on Couple's Love Book. I have been pretty busy for these past few days from having a baby. It's a long story to tell but as you may never know yet, I had a baby last July 1st and since then I haven't had any time to make any updates here or even post an entry. I felt so sad about it since I've been missing a lot. As you can see my life in the month of August was occupied for having a new bundle of joy in the house.

Anyway, on this month of September, I felt like I was coping up now and back on track again. Though, I have a lot of things on my plate. Taking good care of a newborn, a toddler, the house, the husband, the meals, my part time online classes, and of course, my blogging. I need to do extra work now to do my blogging assignments. I don't know what would happen on the next couple months because my dear husband will be going abroad and I will be home with my kids. I wish I could able to survive! LOL!

Well, I still kept on trying to do things I needed to do online. Now that my dear husband was still here. I need to take good care of my blogging assignments too to maintain an income. I wish I could keep up in the next couple of days.

Buying my Home

One of the best decisions that I’ve ever made is buying my most recent house. It was a deal gone bad for some poor guy, but it has made me a lot of money. It’s in a sort of sketchy part of town, but the area is about to turn around for the better. I am in real estate, and so have actually been keeping my eye on this particular neighborhood. I know that the second that the economy picks back up, this will be the area that turns around first. Not only did I get a great house for the money, but my buddies that moved in are paying my mortgage in the meantime. It’s a win-win situation for everyone. I don’t think anyone would bother a house full of men, but we checked out Http://Www.Homesecurity101.com just to make sure that my investment property is safe. I’m excited to see how much I make on this property. I should be able to sell within the next five years, and then maybe I’ll do this same thing again!

The Town

Movie Lovers on The Town.

The movie is all about the career bank robber Doug and his volatile partner, Jim, hit a roadblock when Doug falls for bank manager Claire whom he kidnapped during their last heist. Worse, an FBI agent is now trailing the thieves around their Charlestown, Mass., territory. The Town probably has the most suspense, tension and action since the movie Heat. The shootouts definitely took my breath away and reminded me of the same intensity as Michael Manns crime film.

Although, this movie was well written and directed it seemed to lack a sense of largeness. Its difficult to describe it but i can only say that it condensed itself into the several characters and seemed to leave the rest of the world unaffected. The casting was good though and i feel Renner did an excellent job supporting the lead.

This is the best crime thriller in a while. Its all there: the heists, the gang with the trigger-happy nut, the one with brains, the infighting, the bungling cops, the shoot-outs, the insanely wacky chases, the woman love interest. But this one moves along with gusto in a place right across the river from Boston called Charlestown. I think its a place Im happy not to have grown up in. Thats the difference with this movie. Theres a sense of place, a town that breeds punks and a sense of criminality that pervades it. Even if youre not a bank robber, it seems youre expected to be some kind of social misfit who flaunts the law just because its whats done here.

A well acted and directed bank heist flick/love story. Told from the law and criminal aspect, some scenes reminded me of Heat. Predictable story but entertaining.

37 Weeks of Pregnancy: Almost There!

So far everything was good for me during this week of my pregnancy. My body is going through its own preparations for childbirth as my practitioner starts looking for signs of labor,but so far everything still good.

On the checklist: the baby's position in relation to my pelvis (engagement) and whether effacement (thinning of the cervix) and dilation (opening of the cervix) have begun, yet so far not progressing yet. My practitioner may also determined whether my cervix has begun to soften and move to the front of the vagina, another indication that labor is getting closer for me which not yet. However, I will keep in mind that these processes can occur gradually (over a period of weeks or even a month or more in some women) or overnight. So while they're clues that I'm indeed progressing, they're far from sure bets when it comes to pinpointing the actual start of labor, though.

Meanwhile, so far the baby's movement is still active. My baby’s head is engaged in my pelvis, she’ll have a lot less room for any more than a twist or squirm. What’s important is that I feel some movement every day. Remember, though, that my baby is behaving like a newborn now and has interludes of deep sleep, when she barely moves at all, though she kept on kicking me, a lot!

No progress yet for dilation or even effacement, no bloody show either. I have some mild heartburn though, but I can manage it. Have some few indigestion as well. Though, I'm worried about varicose veins. So now I'm trying to sleep on my left side, which is the best position for optimum circulation. Also I try elevating my legs by putting a pillow under my feet. Both positions will keep the blood flowing.

I also have some pelvic pressure and discomfort since my baby’s head is pressing into my pelvis, hips, and bladder, I’ll feel more pressure as the week wears on. Most of all, I have difficulty of sleeping, I’ve heard that pregnancy insomnia is Mother Nature’s way to prepare myself for the sleepless nights ahead, but try to squeeze in some shut-eye so I have enough energy for childbirth and beyond. Sleep in a little longer, nap when I come home after work or on weekends, and give myself a relaxing routine when it’s time for bed.

Hubby as a Friend

This week on Couple's Corner is: How Do We See Our Husbands as A....Friend.

When it comes to being a friend, my husband is I would say, friendly, but not too friendly. You know what I mean! Most husbands is too friendly that they wanted to make sure that on their schedule, being with friends and spending time with them should be a part of their weekly routine. My husband doesn’t have friends who he would spend drinking, playing golf, or whatever they needed to do every week. I thought maybe it’s because some and most of his friends were married and living outside of state and even out of the city where we lived in.

As a friend, I would say, my husband have some few friends, maybe because he wasn’t really a socialite, but he has some few friends he would talk for once in a while. Other than that, he doesn’t have any best friends either. I could say I have more than friends than him which is good I guess. So, nobody will drag him to go somewhere unwanted. It was just that I don’t trust my husband, but I don’t trust some of his college friends though.

36 Weeks of Pregnancy

This week of my pregnancy went well. Although, I feel tightening all the time which is known Braxton Hicks. My body continues to make both physical and mental preparations for the big day that's fast approaching which excites me so much. Though, here's what I can expected at my 36th week of pregnancy. As of now, I felt an unusual surge of energy and a compelling need to clean, decorate, or organize, which I might be experiencing what's called nesting, too. But, thankful to my dear husband for helping me out to do the rest of things we needed to do.

I know nesting can be useful in moderation if it helps to occupy my mind during the wait for my baby to arrive. I just can't wait. As of now, I'm trying to accomplish some tasks that can give me more time after my baby is home. It's a good time to launder 0-3 month clothes and place them in drawers, prepare my baby’s crib, and set up the diaper pail and something like that. However, I have some several of the typical late-pregnancy symptoms, though like the morning sickness and fatigue, so I have to take a shower to makes me feel good and get relax.

During my last OB check up, my cervix wasn't starting to dilate yet. Though, every woman and even every pregnancy is different, so I think I'm one of them. Though, I continued to feel hip pain on one side or lower-back pain, but it was just a dull feeling. Though, I experienced Braxton-Hicks contractions regularly almost everyday and it gets more frequent as I edge closer to my due date.

Summer Time

Last Tuesday was the official summer solstice here in Michigan, sounds good to me, yet I felt like not so happy about the summer due to the fact that it’s been raining during the end of the day. However, I was looking forward for the next couple of days though, not because I will have our new bundle of joy, but to enjoy most of the warm weather at the pool with my friends. I’m always so excited about go on swimming. About a few days ago, some of them are having good times at my friend’s house where they finally moved out their winter pool covers to start the summer with water flashes and some cool, relaxing swimming under the sun. How I wish I could be there with them though, but I can’t due to my pregnancy and I can’t wait to give birth soon. So, I have to wait!

Anyway, last Father’s day, we went to the metro beach park to hang out with my family, and we take a stroll, and just enjoy the warm weather. There are pools there too for kids and adults which was good but so congested. There are tons of people in the pool which I thought might not be a good place to enjoy swimming eh? I wish we can able to get our own private pool, yet we don’t have a backyard where we can put the pool in it. Oh well…

Maybe, next year we can since we’re planning to get a house which I wish would happen soon. I just can’t wait!

This week on Couple's Corner's theme is How Do We See Our Husbands as A....brother.

The question is what he is as a brother and how his relationship with his sisters and brother had been. My husband had 3 siblings, 2 oldest sisters and 1 younger brother. Basically for 12 years, he has been the youngest of the family, however, after that the family got a baby boy which happened to be his younger brother. My husband has a close tie band with his sibling. I think he was closer to his two sisters due to their close age gaps. Their younger brother is about 12 years or more younger than them, so it is hard for them to be with him since you know sometimes it is hard to be with younger sibling due to a different perception in life or something.

Anyway, my husband's relationship to his sibling is quite good enough. Since they lived closed to each other, we always have a get together. My husband likes to be with his sibling. He is closer to the oldest sister though. Since he was the youngest for a long time until now he still wants his sisters to treat him like one. He would make joke to them and laugh about it. Whenever they have a get together, they will reminisce and talk about their childhood moments. It was fun being with them. The thing is he has nice sisters and a brother which made me easy to get along with.

As a sibling, they always helped each other. If someone needs help my husband always there, though sometimes he would say, stuff, but he was also giving and understanding. He has his own opinion, but he listened. My husband is a sweet, loving person and I knew he loves his siblings so much. It is just that his not sensational.

35 Weeks of Pregnancy

on my 35 weeks of pregnancy, my baby is head-down in preparation for delivery this time, chances are that my bladder is feeling the squeeze, causing me to leak a little every time I sneeze (or cough or laugh) or making me feel like I have an urgent need to pee all the time which is crazy! Whatever I do, I don’t cut back on fluids anyway, I have to drink water to maintain hydration! One way to improve my body's holding power instead: Do lots and lots of those pelvic-floor exercises called Kegels which I seldom to do or I'm just lazy. Though, they can help strengthen my pelvic muscles somehow because it is important now and postpartum.

My pregnancy is progressing and I always have trouble sleeping at night though. Some claim that this is mother nature's way of preparing myself for life with a new baby. Others believe it is caused by worrying about the health of my baby, labor, and/or parenting, but it is all bout being uncomfortable. There are also numerous physical reasons that sleep may be difficult.

For one going the bathroom every 45 minutes isn't conducive to sleep, nor is a constant backache. So, I tried doing pelvic tilts before bed, limiting fluids after a certain time, and being tired when I go to bed. Well, I should start putting the final touches to my knowledge base of labor too.

We're Lucky Enough!

Since today is Father’s day, I have the chance again to say what I have in mind and in my heart. How thankful, grateful, and sincere I am for having a wonderful husband like Joel. I’m so proud of him for every big and little thing he does. Since the first day we met I knew he’s going to be a good husband and a good father. For the first time I looked into his eyes, I knew we’re going to spend our lifetime with each other, together with our beautiful kids.

He is a good, thoughtful, and very loving father which I cherished about him the most in which makes our kids so lucky enough to have a father like him. Therefore, I thank the Lord each and every day for giving him to me, for our lives. Life would be so tough without him in my life. My prayer is that nothing could come between us and that the love we have for each other would come out freely as the years went by, for each other for our kids as well.

Thank you for being such a wonderful husband and father, for the love and hardwork to provide for us and most of all the unconditional love you gave us that made us who we are, and for being there all the time. Wishing you a wonderful Father’s day baby! Hope you like your gift! I bet he did!

Sweeet Saturday: Surprised Bouquet of Flowers

For Sweet Saturday, a new bouquet of fresh white dozen of daisy mum and blue delphinium flower. These are the combination of flowers which my dearest husband brought me for me today when he came home from doing errands. I never expect him to buy me flowers since it’s been a while that I haven’t gotten anything from him especially flowers.

One time, I divulge to him my thoughts with a little jeering while singing the song, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers Anymore”, you know by Barbra Streisand. He admits that he doesn’t bring me flowers anymore and he said that he wanted to. But, really, it doesn’t matter to me. I know how expensive it is to buy real fresh flowers. Nevertheless, I’m also expecting it and sometimes I love to receive flowers.

Now, I can sing YOU BRING ME FLOWERS, baby by Hope.

So, today, he indeed surprised me! He bought me a dozen of daisy mum and a three blue delphinium. He knows how I love blue flowers too. It was so sweet of him! I couldn’t stop not to share it to the whole world, how glad I am through Facebook, you know.

Then, I was in the middle of chatting with a girl friend, I left her, and meet my husband on the door to receive my flowers. Then, put them in the vase and placed it at our dining table. So, perfect and beautiful. I guess this quote was right: Flowers genuinely are the way to a woman's heart.

34 Weeks of Pregnancy

This week of my pregnancy, I'm not seeing things but at least not as well as usual. That's because my eyes are yet another part of my body that falls prey to those pesky pregnancy hormones. Not only can my vision seem less sharp these days, but also a decrease in tear production can leave my eyes dry and irritated, especially if I wear contact lenses. Plus, an increase in fluid behind my eyes’ lenses can temporarily change their shape, making some women more nearsighted or farsighted than usual. Happily, these vision changes during pregnancy are all temporary. Things should clear up as my eyes return to normal after delivery (so there's no need to change my prescription just yet.

Anyway, this week we were returned from our two weeks vacation and everything went well. However, as usual I experienced an increased vaginal discharge: As my pregnancy progresses, I could see an increase in vaginal discharge. Blame pregnancy hormones (especially estrogen) for this symptom — they increase blood flow to the pelvic area and stimulate the mucous membranes (making my juices flow). Wearing undies with a cotton crotch can keep me drier (and that can curb odors) too. I also have some hair changes: I knew my hair would grow faster and more lustrous while I'm expecting — like my cheeks, chin, and back.

This week on Movie Lovers is The A-Team.

This movie is the updated feature-film take on the hit 1980s television show follows a group of Iraq War veterans on the run from U.S. military forces while they try to clear their names after being framed for a crime they didn't commit. Along the way, Col. Hannibal Smith, Capt. H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock , Sgt. Bosco "B.A." Baracus and Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck help out various people they encounter.

This was one of those rare films that I begrudgingly watched and found myself surprised by enjoying it. With a background of that sort, nothing in this version could possibly have been too unbelievable, except the notion that it could be enjoyable. A great action flick with some great moments of humor and a great style of direction. I liked how it panned between the discussion and the execution of their plans, so that it kept a good pace regarding action. Bonus point for not using the nod to the titular series by nonsensically having the original stars make a cameo move that is so often used with remakes of old TV series.

Good action and just the right amount of comedy. All characters do a great job of representing the original cast. I loved it.

As a Father, my husband is wonderful. He was such a sweet, loving, thoughtful and caring father. A very responsible, good provider. He always have time to play with our son, always have time to spend time with us either. Every time he came home from work, I knew he was so tired and have lack of sleep, yet he still have time to spend time with us. Though, as a human, he wasn't perfect, but he's such a good father. I'm glad he was the father of my kids.

When my son was a baby, he helped me a lot to take good care of him. He changed his diapers, feed him, took good care of him, no wonder why our son is so into him. He also have a potential to spoiled our son too, but good thing I was here to temperate it out. He's the one who always buy toys for our son too. He is such a sweet father. He wanted to make sure his kids got what he never got when he was a kid which I understand because I would do the same thing with our kids as well.

My husband as an Uncle, well, he used to baby sit his nephews and nieces before. He used to spend time with them before before he got married. Though, he still baby sit them, the younger ones, but it only happened once in a while due to the older nephews were already old enough to watch their siblings. However, during our get together he always make sure he talked to each one of his nephews and nieces. We always there for their special occasions too.

Though, he wasn't really that close to them, but he is a good uncle. Once he used to tutored them as well and I think this could helped him to be more closer to his nephews and nieces. Whenever there's a get together, he used to play with them basketball. Sometimes, laugh with them, you know make jokes. He was an easy going uncle. All his nephews and nieces thought he's a smart uncle too.

A Sibling Class is for Parents too

Yesterday, we went to meet for a class for the first time. It's called the Big Brother and Big Sister class. A class is for small children ages 2 to 10 years old who expected to have a new sibling soon. As a parent, I wanted my son to learn some things in regards of how it is like to have a new addition to the family soon. At the class, we learned a lot of things as well, but mostly it is all about how kids could manage and be a big helper to their parents. It is also the best way for our son to familiarize how it is going to be for the next couple of days and prepares them for my absence and for someone to watch him maybe almost a day or two. Nobody will know when I’m going to have the baby.

Anyway, the class was really helpful for us and for our son. It’s been four years that he was the center of our world; therefore, having a baby in the house might surprise him a little bit. Though, we already introduced to him the idea of being a big brother that he’s going to have a little baby sister soon. At the class, he learned new things, though sometimes he was hesitant to do things such as holding the baby doll they used at the class and even changing the diaper. He might be thinking “I’m not going to change the baby’s diaper” but I’m sure he’s going to be a good helper. Every time I asked him something, he always handed it down to me, though sometimes he loves to throw it away. Well, that needs to do some fixing, I guess. Little children also made some cards for their unborn baby brother and sister. It was sweet. I can’t wait for my son to meet his little sister soon.

On the other hand, the rest of the class, we watched a video which showed a child’s experiences with the birth of a sibling, dress up time, and holding the baby, then, the teacher taught us about what to do once the baby arrives home of how to guide the visitor and such. One of the things that surprised me on toys hazards. Sometimes, small kids can be a hazard for newborn babies, so she taught us to show a toilet paper roll (empty) and uses the brown roll to show kids what toys are safe and dangerous to newborn babies which for me is really helpful. I think I can show that to my son.

33 Weeks Pregnancy

With midnight bathroom runs, leg cramps, heartburn, and my basketball-sized belly, it's no wonder sleep is elusive. Third-trimester insomnia strikes about three-quarters of pregnant women (who may also be coping with a mind that races all night long thinking about my to-do-before-the-baby-comes list). But my body needs rest, so I have to do my best to get comfy — before bed and when I get in it. So, I grab a pile of pillows, wedge them where I need to, and look on the bright side: Pregnancy insomnia is great training for those sleepless nights to come, though!

During this week, I felt stronger fetal activity: I can test for fetal movement twice a day — in the morning and evening. I check the clock and start counting every wiggle, roll, kick, or flutter until I reach ten and record them using my phone. I also noticed some nail changes during my pregnancy which caused by hormones which make nails grow faster but can also cause them to become brittle. Aside from that, I also experienced shortness of breath that due to burgeoning belly which is pushing anything out of its way — including my lungs, which can’t fully expand. It’s more uncomfortable for me than it is for my baby, who is getting the oxygen she needs from the placenta. What helps? Standing as straight as Ican so that your lungs have a little more room and also to put both of my arms on the back of my head for my diaphragm to widen.

Well, I can't wait to get over soon, but I knew I still have more weeks to go!

Movie Lovers on the movie SALT. This movie is all about the accused of being a Russian sleeper spy, rogue CIA agent Evelyn Salt played by Angelina Jolie goes on the run, using every tactic, accent and disguise she knows to elude her pursuers, clear her name and protect her husband. Her supervisor, Winter played by Liev Schreiber, buys her story, while counterintelligence officer Peabody played by Chiwetel Ejiofor decidedly does not and will do anything to stop her in this fast-paced, intrigue-filled spy adventure.

The movie is a pleasant departure from the formulaic summer action fare. You may think you know whats going to happen, but youll probably be wrong. The performances are very good, especially from Liev Schreiber. Jolies performance, which is usually the same in all her movies, fits the role. The script is well written, with some surprising twists, but it can be easy to lose a thread here or there if youre not paying attention. There are also one or two give me a break action scenes, and some unexpectedly graphic violence.

This movie was surprisingly entertaining and refreshing. Salt is now one of my favorite spy movies of all time! If you can see this in the theater you definitely should. This is one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. There were lots of explosions, gun fights, car chases, fist fights and all the other stuff that makes a movie awesome. I love how strong Jolie's female character was, and I found it more satisfying than some of the other shallow James bond characters I've seen before. A great movie I cant wait for the sequel.

Graduation Ceremony

Last Saturday, my family were invited by my sister in law to come and join on their graduation celebration for their first born son. It was my first time joining the graduation ceremony here in US as well since I haven't gone to any of this type of celebration. Since my sister in law invited us, I would definitely loved to go. It was yesterday around 4 pm, the celebration began. It was fun and the most exciting event for my husband's nephew. I knew his parents were kind a excited too. Then, I took some photos at the ceremony. Everyone was seemed happy and finally the waiting is over!

Then, we went to a restaurant to get the dinner which I had my all time favorite entree, grilled shrimp with rice. It was memorable celebration.We're glad that we had a chance to celebrate it with him.

Pregnancy at 32 Weeks

This week my body may start prepping for delivery day by flexing its muscles — literally. I felt that my terus bunching or hardening periodically which was weird feeling, those are practice contractions, otherwise known as Braxton Hicks. These rehearsals (typically experienced earlier and with more intensity in women who've been pregnant before) feel like a tightening sensation that begins at the top of my uterus and then spreads downward, lasting from 15 to 30 seconds (though they can sometimes last two minutes or more).

Anyway, this week I experienced more of flatulence. So, since it is very uncomfortable, I have to find something to minimize that gassy feeling, aim for eating six small meals a day (versus three large ones) so that I don’t strain my digestive system (which is being taxed enough by my growing belly bearing down on it).

Traveling is kind a tiring this week, good thing, we're stopping for the night during the trip, then resume the next day. But during those trips, we have to stop just for me to take a walk to avoid blood clots on my legs.

Though, bloating is still here which I may experienced slower metabolism (which has slowed down to give the food I ate more time to enter the bloodstream and nourish my baby) can cause bloating. So, I have to make sure, I drink plenty of water to avoid constipation which aggravates bloating. Also, constipation which is my growing uterus is cramping my bowels, making them sluggish and irregular. So I have to get some regular exercise (anything helps, from brisk walks to prenatal yoga), and drink up, maybe.

Nanny McPhee Returns

On Movie Lovers is Nanny McPhee Returns (Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang ; Nanny McPhee 2)

I watched this movie with my son a couple of days ago. It's all about when Nanny McPhee played by Emma Thompson arrives at the Green farm, she uses her blend of magic and discipline to help frazzled Mrs. Green played by Maggie Gyllenhaal run things while her husband's off fighting in World War II -- and to help the Green kids deal with their nasty cousins. Soon motorcycles start flying and statues come alive as everyone learns important lessons.

As for me, the movie was not as good as the original, but it has its moments. The early part of the movie relies way too much on gross-out humor. "Nanny McPhee Returns" finds its footing and heart about a third of the way through. Nanny McPhee is back, coming to the aid of a young mother who has her hands full with her three children and their two cousins as they try to save the family farm while her husband is off to war. There is lots of magic and the children learn their lessons, whether they want to or not. It's funny and quite touching, but the children do not really bond with her as well as in the first movie. And some of the antics seem more forced this time around. All in all, though, it was light and entertaining.

This was pretty decent as far as story boards go, although, it's not as funny as I'd hoped it be.

At 31 weeks of my Baby Bump

At my 31 weeks of pregnancy, chances are my diaphragm is feeling a little cramped these days. I don't know why, but it feels like there's no room down there! Plus, I was having this lots of cramped going on. It's because my uterus is pushing up against it (and all the other organs in there), crowding my lungs and making it more difficult for them to expand fully, oh one of the thing I hate about pregnancy, aside from varicose veins and leg cramps.

Now, my body is spare on air and will be until my dearest baby drops near the end of pregnancy in preparation for birth. But I don’t need to worry: my baby is as happy as a clam because she’s getting her oxygen from the placenta. However, my uterus puts more pressure on my bladder in the third trimester, giving it less room to store urine. So, I always have a trip to my favorite room in our house even at 4 in the morning.

Well, I learned that cutting down on the bathroom trips by double voiding: Pee, then when you’re done, pee again. That’ll make sure you’ve emptied my bladder completely. I also noticed one thing, I am more on being so clumsy lately. My shifting posture (not to mention my increasing girth) and lack of concentration makes me clumsier these days. So I took it easy when I'm climbing into the shower or tub and roll up any area rugs that could trip me up at home. So, I have to be careful. It seemed like it wasn't me or myself.

Another thing is difficulty sleeping. This is another common third-trimester woe, caused by a constellation of other conditions, such as leg cramps, heartburn, frequent urination, and plain old anxiety (with a dash of pregnancy hormones). If tension keeps me tossing and turning all night, I need to talk it out with friends or your partner during the day. I hope it helps...

Sweet Saturday: Sweet Kisses

This week on Sweet Saturday:

Father's day is fast approaching and so it is time for me to post something my son and my husband was doing so lately. Every time, my husband put our son to his car seat, he always gave him sweet kisses! Even though, I didn't look, I could still hear the smooch behind my seat! LOL! He was such a sweet father. This time, I had my camera on so I had a chance to take some shot of him giving his son a kiss. Isn't it so sweet?

He always does it too whenever we were at home as well. He always played with his son, give him kisses, hugs and even tickle him to hear his son's laughter. I was so lucky to have a sweet, loving husband, eh?
Yeah! What else could I ask for more than a husband like him?

@ 30 Weeks of my Pregnancy

During my 30 weeks of my pregnancy , I have learned that the best sleeping position for a pregnant woman is on her left side, I never knew that until I read this article about pregnancy. Since I have a congestion and stuffy nose, I can't stay sleeping on my left side, rather I slept more on my right side because that's where my stuffy nose got cleared out. I never know it until I learned that since my aorta and vena cava are slightly to the right of the center of my back, then the laying and sleeping on my left side as much as possible ensures an unobstructed blood flow to my organs and extremities. I do have a little bit of trouble sleeping right now, but I managed it by trying one of the many maternity pillows or full-body pillows on the market. I also tried to sleep in a recliner chair which might also help.

Good thing, I don't have that much problem of a heartburn, but of bloating. I learned that bloating in an expanding uterus (that third-trimester culprit) is pressing into the stomach and intestines, making that bloated feeling worse this week (and for the next several weeks). So, I tried to eat smaller (and more frequent) meals to avoid overloading my digestive system and to avoid gas pain as well. I also added yogurt on my regular diet which helped me to treat constipation too.

Last week on Couple's Corner is How Do We See Our Husbands as A....Son.

When I met my husband about 7 years ago, I knew he came from a close family tie. During our “getting to know each other” stage, I have learned that his parents were divorced and he accepted it wholeheartedly. He somewhat not agrees with the idea, but he accepts the fact that he came from a broken family. The thing is this doesn’t bother him at all. He knew and I guess being matured what matters most. For him it is a lesson to be learned and be positive on it and that’s what he does. He promised himself that it will never happen to him or to his marriage. As for me, I agreed because I believed in marriage. I guess that’s why our path crossed.

Anyway, my husband is closed to his mom and dad despite the fact that they were divorced. He lived with his dad a couple of years after the divorce, then with his mom as well during those times when we were getting to know each other. I met his mom and talked to her which I found out that she was so sweet! She was just so good raising two boys. She showed them how to love and take good care of a woman and I saw that on my husband. He was just so sweet, thoughtful, sensitive and very loving. I guess it is all matter of how to raise a son, eh?

My husband loved his parents so much. Every time they talked over the phone and hanged up, they always said “I love you” towards each other after the conversation. I guess that’s where my husband got the idea of being so compassionate and sweet. My husband’s relationship to his dad is open. They can talk men stuff. And with his mom, he’s open too. When his mom passed away last March 2011, I saw pain in his eyes for the first time. He loved his mom so much. At that time, I saw a little boy again who wanted his mom so much. I knew he still misses him a lot. He was such a good son to her.

At 29 Weeks of Pregnancy

At 29 weeks of my pregnancy, I feel like I have been pregnant forever! With all those those discomforts of pregnancy getting to me so hard. This is the time when itchy skin, shortness of breath, hemorrhoids, leg cramps, heartburn and indigestion and achy muscles takes a toll and I was getting so tired and crazy about it. Though, reading those pregnancy books and some online articles helped me out, I knew that tat these annoyances are only temporary. So, I have to focus on the positive aspects of pregnancy and just enjoy most of it which for me it's so hard to overcome.

So, during this week, my husband and I planned for a family vacation before the baby is born. Since by the time we have the baby, we can't able to have more vacations anymore, not until a couple months, I guess. This time, fatigue is probably a constant companion which sometimes so irritating because I wanted to do something, but I can't. So, I tried to rest when possible; take a nap or put my feet up to keep the edema at bay.

However, I'm getting so excited for our vacation soon. I can't wait!

First week of June: Theme for Couple's Corner is How Do We See Our Husbands as A....Husband.

What I thought of my husband...? Well, for the first time I met him, I knew he's going to be a good, loving husband. Since the first time we talked I knew he was the guy I was looking for, a perfect husband to be. He was seemed the one I was looking for and the one I asked from God. He's very sweet, loving, thoughtful, generous, God-fearing, and who would love me of who I am. And, I was right!

After almost 7 years of being together, through ups and downs, we're always together. We're seemed to be made with each other to help each other out, to understand each other’s differences. Within those years, I discovered new things with my husband which I accepted and loved. I would say, my husband have some weaknesses too, strengths, imperfections, but as I grew to love him each and every day, I have learned to just loved him of who and what he is.

I think we’re perfectly made for each other too. You may never understand it, but we were both just comprehensible. For the past 7 years, I would say, we only have two to three times of quarrel. I think most of the time we were able to understand and be sensitive toward each other. Before we have kids, we used to have a little argument over something, and I will never talk to him for about two to three days, he would feel so sad. He would say sorry. Then, after we have kids, I learned he wasn’t able to say sorry anymore which I never thought he could do. I think it is because kids can sometimes make us to be feeling ok again, since we have to communicate because of them.

Well, I loved my husband so much too. I don’t know what I will do without him in my life. I couldn’t picture myself alone with my kids without him. As for me, he is the one for me, I couldn’t ask for more…

At 28 Weeks Pregnancy

Finally on my third trimester. At 28 weeks, my body changed a bit. This time I experienced period of leg cramps or they so called "Charley Horse", a little bit of hemorrhoids, I hope no varicose veins, a little bit of itchy skin. I also have some mild aches and pains, but I can overcome it by putting and stuffing my body with pillows.

My uterus is around 3 inches above my navel right now as what the approximate measurement for this period of pregnancy. The average weight gain is between 17 and 24 pounds at this point which I was at the low range so far. I haven't had a glucose tolerance test yet to test for gestational diabetes, but my care provider may order one this week or so.

I was feeling really heavy now with lots of pelvic pressure and backaches which sometimes I always visit the rest room just to pee all the time. It feels like the baby are sitting on my rectum and bladder - and they are! Well, I'm quite on nesting right now. Preparing everything ready. I got so tired, but warm baths can help. I'm glad hubby was here to help me out.

Last week of May's theme for Couple's Corner is my husband's thoughts of me as being a friend or a sister.

Well, my husband thought I'm a sweet sister and I love my one and only big sister so much. He had seen it a million times of how happy I got to see my sister and how I love to spend time with her. My sister and I were very close I would say. When we were little we used to play barbie dolls all the time. But, once in a while, my sister needs to do something else other than to play games with me. When she gets older, she used to go out with her friends, but at the same time work so hard. I remember I used to wash her clothes and she will give me free meal from Jollibee she worked at.

Then, when we were getting old, became mothers, we appreciate more of being sisters. We seemed became best of friends. We shared problems and shared and laugh about anything. Our husbands saw that of how we were so closed to each other. She's just my dearest sister to me.

As a friend, my husband thought I'm a sweet friend. I always have time to spend with my friends, no matter how busy I am. I think he thought I have more friends that him. I guess is right. I'm more on a very talkative person (on my own language) but of course, not on English. Some people thought I'm a very behave person, well, not that they know of.

I think these are the thoughts I could share, my husband didn't say anything at all...:D He might be tired...

Sweet Hubby

My husband is such a sweetheart and recently signed us up for Internet and cable from CLEARTVBUNDLE.COM at home because he knew since my surgery I was getting really bored on bed rest. I was all laid out and didn't have much to do other than watch TV, and our basic cable just wasn't cutting it! Now we have all the premium channels, so I'm able to watch new release movies as well as original premium shows as often as I like. I feel so up-to-date on what's happening in the entertainment industry, and I'm really enjoying getting hooked on some of these series. I'm just dreading when I'm finally healed and have to go back to work and won't be able to watch movies in bed all day long! And, if the rainy season here, so it's even more cozy to curl up with the boob tube! I can't thank my honey enough for making my life easier, but now I'm afraid I'm addicted to TV! I suppose there are worse things to be addicted to.

Husband's Thoughts of Me as a Daughter

Last week on Couple's Corner's topic is What does my husband think of me as.. Daughter.

Well, I never asked my husband about it of what he thinks about me as a daughter to my parents. However, he knew I was a good daughter. I also think I was since I haven't brought any problems to my parents when I was still living with them. Since I was a child, I was raised very good with my parents, though sometimes our family is not perfect at all, but I foreseen it as a lesson. I took it in a positive way. I never get rebellious, though sometimes I thought what if I did.

Then, I guess, it would just bring bad luck for me if I did. Good thing, I was also raised with good christian family values. I grew up knowing Christ is my savior. I knew what is right and wrong. I choose good friends during my grade and high school life and even college. I think being a good daughter also brings good things in my life. I followed what I knew was right. I chooses right direction. My parents are proud of what I came up to be. I think my husband knew that. He might be so pleased that I was somehow a good girl too! :D

On Couple's Corner last two weeks ago, May 11 topic is What does my husband think of me as.. As a Wife...

It's been two weeks since I posted my late entry for Couple's Corner, pardon me for being late. Although, I was trying to catch up yet time is just not permitting me at all. I felt so bad about it. I wish I could able to do it exactly on time.

Anyway, this week I wanted to share my entry for this week's theme of what my husband think of me as a wife. Well, I still need to ask him about it. I thought if I asked him, he would say, I'm a wonderful, sweet, caring and loving wife. As what he used to say before when we were still on our first year of marriage of being together. I wonder if that changed or became even more wonderful.

Last Mother's day, I received a card from him. It stated of how lucky he was for being my husband. He couldn't ask for more for a wife like me. How sweet it is!

He also stated that how caring and loving I was, though, I don't have much enough time for myself, but I always give time for them. At 28 weeks pregnant (and throughout this month of my pregnancy), my weight should go up and my skin probably will keep changing.

* I should be gaining about a pound a week.

These are estimated weights. Every woman and baby is different.
Baby - 6 1/2 to 9 pounds
Placenta - 1 1/2 pounds
Amniotic fluid - 2 pounds
Uterus - 2 pounds
Heavier breasts - 2 to 3 pounds
Additional blood volume - 3 to 4 pounds
Increased fluids - 3 to 4 pounds
Fat storage - 6 to 8 pounds

Stretch marks: As my skin expands during pregnancy, stretch marks can appear on my skin which I hated so much. These red, pink, or purplish streaks may appear on my stomach, breasts, arms, hips, thighs, or rear. Stretch marks are not a sign that I'm gaining too much weight — they can appear on the slimmest of pregnant women! I could try a cream specifically made for stretch marks, but I don't know if most of them works!

Thank the family tree. Whether I get stretch marks has more to do with heredity than any other factor. After I deliver, my stretch marks probably will fade to light pink or white, but may not completely disappear, though.

Anyway, finally I was at the end of my second trimester! Here's how I can take care of myself — and my body. Well, easy does it. Make safety my top priority when I exercise by following these tips: To stretch and warm up for at least five minutes before starting to exercise, to start my activity at an easy, slow pace. Gingerly increase my speed and repetitions to a level that's comfortable for me. I also have to drink fluid, work out on a flat, firm surface, rise slowly after doing floor exercises, cool down for five to 10 minutes, wear supportive shoes and a supportive bra, pack some power into your snack.

At 27 weeks of my Pregnancy

At 27 weeks of my pregnancy, I'm getting nearer to the end of my second trimester. My body probably will start experiencing changes to help me get ready for childbirth:

As of now, my urine flow may be slow. I also use the bathroom often and speak with my doctor if I have some concern about a urinary tract infection as well which I don't know if I have one. So far I'm doing fine. As long as I keep drinking water which is good for my health right now. I also may may continue to have a thin, white, odorless vaginal discharge too which is not so bad at all. But, I have to talk to my doctor if it's heavy, green, yellow, or strong-smelling, then it may indicate something wrong. I may have a vaginal infection, which can be treated during pregnancy.

Anyway, I have experienced some light braxton-Hicks contractions (false labor) continue, but not as much as I could able to notice it. I think the ligaments in my pelvic area soften to get ready for delivery which I bet will be so soon. I also may experience back pain, but I think it is normal.

Exercise and nutrition are still a really important part of my routine, now and through the rest of my pregnancy.

Now's also a great time to learn the signs of preterm labor.

Me, as a Mother and Aunt

Last week on Couple’s Corner is all about me, as a Mother or Aunt. And, what does my husband think of me as one.

Well, it’s been a week late for me to make a post about this theme, but I can’t help it not to. I don’t want to miss the chance of sharing my utmost sincerity when it comes to this topic. Last two weeks ago is Mother’s day, so I think I have to share what my husband’s thought about me as a mother or aunt.

Last Mother’s day, my husband bought me a gift. It was a plant that I’ve been wanting for almost a year now. We bought different types of plants but then they ended up dying, so now my husband finally got me a new one since the old one we had died almost a year now. It was a surprise! I never know about it until Sunday morning on Mother’s day. It was special and he had a card for me too.

Anyway, my husband is not vocal when it comes to telling me of how I am doing as a mother and aunt. He knew I loved my nephews and niece. He knew how grateful I am everything I heard good news about them. Being a mother is a very high end job that no will ever understand unless they became a mother. My husband might not know about it all, but he saw everything what I have done for our son. So, in the card that he gave to me a couple of weeks ago, he showed to me of how great mother I am with our son Josh and how he was so thankful for having me as a mother of his children.

Actually, I asked him about it. He told me that he was grateful I was the mother of his kids and he couldn’t ask for more. I was quite in blush mode when he told me it. I know it was kind a sweet of him and I could see it from his eyes as well.

Going back to school is one of the best things I did so far, of course, second to being a mother. My reason for going back to school is to get a degree of course, and to find the best job in the world, I would say. I guess there are no best jobs unless you own the business, right? Yet, having your own business is also not easy to deal with, so I guess, I have to be content of whatever life may take me on pursuing a degree of my own.

So, for the meantime, I’m at school doing my pre-requisites as well. I’m quite so excited to get finish soon, but I know it will take a while especially if I don’t go back to school in a regular basis as well as getting all the needed credits to finish the course in less than two years.

Somehow, it excites me knowing that someday I could able to wear some women’s scrub too while working in a clinic, in a hospital, in health care office, or maybe at home. It's been a long time since I made my last post on this blog. I think March 2011 was the last time I made a post, eh? Wow! It's May already! Well, there's just a lot of things were going on for these past few days. Since my husband came home from Texas, we faced a lot of things, as his mother's death approached. It was a sad event for all of us. I've been out of blogging for a while too due to the fact that I'm dealing with the situation, with my studies and then with our beach vacation after to celebrate my birthday as well. Also, for my dear husband, from the downfall he went through after his mother's death. It was hard for all of them. I never experienced such ordeal, but I knew it was heart breaking.

Anyway, after our two weeks beach vacation last month, I also have to deal with my studies which finally ended last week! I'm so thankful. But, I know it is not over yet, since my pregnancy due date is approaching too. So, I have to deal with it again. Having too many blogs as well is killing my time. I couldn't able to update most of them which is so sad.

Well, I hope you bear with me and keep visiting my blog. I will try to make a posts here and update this blog as much as possible.

When We Are Getting Ready....

This week on the Couple’s Corner is When We Are Getting Ready.

This week’s theme is all about of what we would wear and if we prepare what we wear when getting ready for special occasions such as anniversary or just another special date between us as a couple. For instances, when my husband and I would go to a special event such as wedding or special birthday of a family or friends, we usually go together to shop for clothing to wear on that day.

Mostly, I do my hair first since that would take a long time. I also take a little time when getting ready too. My husband usually was the one who get done first before me. All he need to is wait for me! He was very patient when it comes to waiting for his wife which I was lucky enough. Sometimes, if we’re really so late, I always put my make up on in the car instead. Then, I don’t need to do some retouch if I do them first when getting ready. I don’t know but I’m used to it.

Sometimes, if we will go on a date, I choose what clothes to wear too. I prepare it but sometimes when he doesn’t like it, I usually intend to change what I supposed to wear. I’m always depending on my husband whenever I tried to wear something which I don’t know why. I became confident my clothing was good, if he said that it looks good and I was the same with him too. He will ask me too.

I think we're both the same when it comes to getting ready. I do change my mind a lot too of what to wear. LOL! And so is he. I think we're compatible when it comes to these things.

27 weeks of Pregnancy

Your uterus continues to grow and develop during pregnancy at 27 weeks, now reaching roughly 2.8 inches above your navel. You would probably find if measuring your uterus from the top of your pubic symphysis that you are 27 inches tall! Most women's fundal measurement corresponds to the weeks pregnant they are, give or take an inch. I went to my appointment last week and I'm so glad everything went well. My baby is getting bigger! I could feel her kicks a lot!

Well, I started noticing around this time your energy starts dropping. While most women enjoy a pleasant energy spurt during the middle of the second trimester, this often fades as they approach the third trimester. I remember as I entered my third trimester, my body is working very hard to complete its masterpiece... creation of a new life! This takes a lot of energy, so it makes sense I would feel a bit tired.

I found the best way to help improve the lack of energy is to simply take a rest. While it seems contradictory, extra rest will help improve my spirits, mood and eventually provide me with more than enough energy to get through my day. But how do I rest when I'm getting so big especially on the belly area, and having a hard time shifting in bed? If I don’t already own one by now, I should invest in a pregnancy pillow, but they were too expensive.

Now, I'm getting there and almost there! I can't wait!

Movie Lovers on You Again...

This movie is all about history -- make that high school -- may repeat itself when Marni (Kristen Bell) learns that Joanna (Odette Yustman), the mean girl from her past, is set to be her sister-in-law. Before the wedding bells toll, Marni must show her brother that a tiger doesn't change its stripes. On Marni's side is her mother (Jamie Lee Curtis), while Joanna's backed by her wealthy aunt (Sigourney Weaver). Kristin Chenoweth co-stars as the couple's wedding planner.

You Again" is about running into your high school arch nemesis years later. Marni is a successful ad agent heading home to her brother's wedding, only to find out that he is marrying the girl that tormented her in high school. Marni's mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) also realizes that Joanna's aunt is her ex-best friend from high school. Add in Betty White and you have some truly funny moments. A funny story that is worth watching, it's not often you see a cast of females like this.

You Again teaches life lessons like dealing with your past (which is in this case, high school), shows strong family relationships, and the language and humor are so clean that, in my opinion, any family member could watch this one. With a female-dominated cast, this movie is most enjoyable for girls, but it's not even close to being too sappy for a guy to sit through without complaining and actually get a few laughs out of:) I watch a lot of movies and have high expectations, so it is saying a lot that this is one of my all-time absolute favorites!

The movie is good, funny, light-hearted movie. I really liked it. It was kind of predictable, but even despite that, it was very funny. I love Kristen Bell and her acting is great. She is very funny, and makes this movie just that much better. A must-see.

Couple's Corner: How Do We Celebrate Being Together

Last week on Couple’s Corner is How Do We Celebrate Being Together.

It was last September 2005 when we were finally on each other’s arms again after almost 10 months of waiting for my visa processing to be approved of and for my interview to be scheduled. At that time, we almost spent time with being together, mostly we went out to eat, and I think at that time, we were so busy too. I had a lot of things to do before we can able to go back to my place in Davao City. We were in Manila for about three days while waiting for my visa to be delivered. Mostly, we stayed at the hotel, go to the mall, went shopping, watch movies, and then stay almost all day and night at the hotel.

We went home to my place in Davao City in order to get my things packed up. I spent our last three days for being in the Philippines with family and friends as well. I had my farewell party too and my mom’s birthday.

Then, recently, when he came home from Texas, we mostly spent our times together by going out together, went shopping together and even eat out together. It was also a tough two weeks for my husband since he came home from Texas because of what had happened to his mom. His mom got hospitalized and been in ICU for five days and then funeral the next week. It was unexpected and stressful as well. With this, we celebrate being together through ups and downs of our lives. After that, now I could tell that my husband was coping up the pain, he was doing well. I’m sure he’s missing his mom too. I missed her too.

Anyway, now we’re planning to take some vacation from the stressful weeks of our lives. I think this is a good way for us, and for him to overcome the pain. To celebrate more of our time together after 2 months of being away from each other and also a baby moon for us before our second bundle of joy arrives soon.

My Growth and Development @ 26 weeks

If you could see me right now, you can tell I'm pregnant! But a lot of people said that I'm too small! Of course, compare to 5'5 inches women, you know. I'm petite and I think it was not reasonable enough for them to compare me to big women when they became pregnant, eh?

Anyway, as I saw my uterus should now be about 2 and a half inches above my belly button. My uterus will continue growing at a rate of about 1 centimeter each week as I continue my pregnancy. I have probably put on some weight at this point in time which I gained about 2 pounds, up to 23 pounds for some women but so far I only gained about 13 pounds. My weight may fluctuate from day to day due to water retention so try not to weight myself every day, as this could prove discouraging during my pregnancy.

As of now, I was starting to experience more discomfort including pressure and back pain as my belly continues to grow larger, especially when I'm lying down in bed.

Leg cramps are also common. Be sure to stretch out my legs as much as possible and eat a nutritious diet to ensure my body is receiving the nutrients it needs to keep up with my baby's development. Stretching is particularly important if I plan on doing any type of exercise. Remember that my added girth and the changes in hormones will change the way my body responds to exercise. I want to make sure I do not injure myself. One way to prevent this is through routine stretching...

Some women might start complaining of pain or discomfort around their ribs or in their lower abdomen. My little one is getting stronger, and her strength combined with the growing size of my uterus, which is pressing against my organs may cause me to have some discomfort. It isn't uncommon to feel a sharp or stabbing pain or pressure under my ribs as the baby moves. It may help to switch positions or lie down when I feel this pain or discomfort. But I'm enjoying it at the same time.

Couple's Corner: Together Again

Last week on Couple’s Corner is all about Together Again.

It was last September 2005 when my husband and I got together again after our honeymoon last December 2004. It almost 9 months of separation which for me I never thought I would survive for. It was my US embassy interview and if I could get my US Visa as we planned it for, then I could able to fly back with him here in US which happened. I flew here in US last October 2005 which was the happiest moment of my life, but of course, the saddest since I’m going to leave my family and friends which was expected already. Good thing I never cried at the airport when I’m about to leave and depart.

Then, another thing was just recently when my husband went to Texas for 2 months and when he came back last March 8, it was the happiest moment of my life too. It was seemed so awkward since we have to met at the hospital because he arrived at 6 pm at the airport and his mom was in the hospital at that time which was unexpected. So, my sister in law’s husband went to picked him up and we all meet at the hospital. We saw each other for the first time again after 2 months seemed like when we first met before way back in the Philippines. It was weird.

Anyway, I think that’s all I could share right now about us being together again after a long time of being away from each other. I guess, this is another way to nurture and cherish every moment of us together.

25 weeks of Pregnancy

At 25 weeks pregnant, my uterus is about the size of a volleyball. As my uterus continues to grow, I noticed that it places some pressure on my back and pelvis and it feels so uncomfortable sometimes. This can sometimes cause me to experience shooting pains either down my leg or in my lower back. For some women, these pains get more and more severe during pregnancy which I was afraid to experience until June 2011.

Some women will experience a condition called sciatica during pregnancy. This often happens when the baby's head presses against the pelvic bones causing the nerves in my lower back and legs to be compressed, I think I only experienced it about three times for these past few weeks. Severe pain often results and can occur in the lower back, legs, and even buttocks. Some women will also experience numbness or tingling in the legs which I did for about twice now. For some, the pain is so severe that they aren't able to lift their leg or walk without excruciating pain. So what is a woman to do? For most women, their symptoms disappear once their baby is born. Until then, there are many things I can do to help alleviate the pain: If you are pregnant, you might want to try some of these tips too:

* Apply a hot or ice pack for 10 minutes to the area that is most painful.
* Sleep on a firm mattress.
* Avoid sitting for long periods of time.
* Avoid frequent bending at the waist.
* Don't engage in movements that make the pain worse.
* Consider physical therapy if your physician recommends it.
* Try to stand up straight.
* Use support cushions and a full body pillow (such as Snoozer Pregnancy Pillows) in bed.
* Don't lift anything heavy and when you do lift be sure to bend from the knees.
* Consider chiropractic care or physical therapy.

All I could do now is to remember like anything else, this too shall pass. Some women find that their sciatic pain is greatly relieved by getting a few days bed rest. In many cases, the pain subsides within 1-2 weeks, though it may not disappear completely until after delivery.

Now, I'm hoping I don't experience it much often, rather just enjoy being pregnant...

Couple's Corner: I Cried a River

This week on Couple’s Corner is all about relationship and the theme for this week is what happened and how I Cried A River.

Let me think when the time I did was cried a lot during our marriage, maybe, when he came home from our honeymoon last December 2004. I did miss him a lot and so I did cried and shed a tear every time I missed his touch and kisses and hugs! Sometimes, when you missed someone and always wanted to be with them, the only thing you can do to ease the pain and to feel good is to cry. For me crying is the only thing I could do, if I couldn’t do anything at all. A way for me to be feeling better, aside from sleeping and shopping, but sometimes to cry is another way to express what you feel.

Anyway, the drama never lasted that long, after I heard from him again. We talked and chat almost every day which made me feel better. Another thing was when I came here and got pregnant. I was so sad and hubby was always at work, I spent most of the day and night home alone. I missed my family back home, I felt I was abandoned and it was overwhelming experience for me. I’m always with friends and family when I was in the Philippines, then all of a sudden, I was home alone in a foreign country which I can’t even go out with a car. I was so sad; I remembered I almost cry every night…

Recently, I also cried a river when my husband left for work in Texas for almost 2 months. I was missing him so much. Left alone pregnant with a 4 year old is kind a stressful, but sometimes it makes me feel busy, but during the night, I missed him again. Maybe, I missed him when he always hugged and gave me good night kisses.

I think that’s all I could think of right now….

Growth and Development at 24 weeks of Pregnancy

I'm almost there! My uterus continues to grow at 24 weeks, now between 1 ½ and 2 inches above my belly button and I could feel that I'm getting heavy too. Many women are surprised that people want to start rubbing their bellies as they start to show. While some women don't mind, others feel uncomfortable. It isn't uncommon for perfect strangers to come up to you and rub your belly. Well, not on my part, I never seen people who just come up to me and rub my belly, it may be so awkward and weird, but good thing no one ever did it me, except my sister in law and my late mother in law.

Anyway, if it really bothers me, I could always tell them that I'm ticklish. Or head them off by patting my own belly, that way I could use my hand to be in the way and may prevent them from reaching out to touch my belly without an invitation. Remember that babies tend to fill the world with joy, that's why so many people are fond of rubbing a pregnant woman's belly. Others believe there is luck in rubbing a pregnant woman's belly too which I heard about a lot of times.

Your baby has less and less room to move in your womb after you are about 24 weeks pregnant. You should be feeling strong kicks by now, but gradually your baby's movements will start to seem slower and more rhythmic. This is perfectly normal.

Though my baby's first kicks and movements will seem random now, gradually my baby will be kicking regularly. I should notice patterns of wakefulness and sleeping throughout the day. Enjoy each and every moment I have to enjoy with my baby's gymnastics. It may seem hard to believe but I will miss the feeling of my baby moving around inside of me once I give birth. So, now I'm getting most of it and enjoy every minute of it.

Let me think...I don't remember any recent dates of me and my hubby for these past few days, but we did last December 2010 during our 6th wedding anniversary. It was the time when we went out to eat with our son at one of my favorite restaurant called Red Lobster, as always I ordered my favorite meal, crabs! I think hubby got steak and lobster too. Then, we went home and asked my late mother in law to watch our son while we will go out and watch a movie in a movie theater. At that time, we decided to watch "Tangled". It was a cute, very amusing movie for a couple who wanted to have fun and just enjoy life to the fullest.

Afterward, we went home and spend the rest of the night alone with our son.

I think that's the recent dates we had after a almost 7 years of being married. We have lots of date nights, but we always have our son with us and I don't think I will consider it as a date.

My Two Loves

Truth be told, I never really bowled much as a child. For whatever reason, I thought it was only something that balding, overweight men did as they guzzled beer or something like that. Even as a teen, my image of bowlers was Al Bundy and Homer Simpson. In my mind, it certainly wasn't something a young girl would be interested in.

Then I began dating Tom. Tom was a co-worker of mine who asked me out on a date one night. Not only was I hesitant to go out on a date with a co-worker, I was hesitant to go out with someone who apparently, at least based off of his office conversations, went bowling just about every night in the week. I agreed after heavy coaxing that it was a group event. That night I fell in love twice. Once with Tom and once with bowling.

Roughly one year later he got me my own pink bowling ball and bowling gloves. Tom and I have since moved in together and now regularly go bowling three nights a week. We can literally bowl for hours on end so we make it a point to set the home securit from Securitychoicey prior to going to the bowling alley. I'm not sure if anyone will believe me, but one night we spent over six straight hours at the bowling alley.

23 Weeks of my Pregnancy

On this week of my pregnancy I noticed that my ankles and feet start to swell a bit and it will be more in the coming weeks or months, especially at the end of the day or during the heat of summer. Sluggish circulation in my legs — coupled with changes in my blood chemistry that may cause some water retention — may result in swelling, also known as edema. Yes, I learned it as well on my medical terminology class. My body will get rid of the extra fluid after I have my baby, which is why I'll pee frequently and sweat a lot for a few days after delivery.

In the meantime, I tried to lie on the left side or put my feet up when I can, just to stretch out my legs when I sit, and avoid sitting — or standing — in one place for long period of time. Also, I try to exercise regularly to increase circulation, and wear support stockings (put them on first thing in the morning) and roomy, comfortable shoes. I may be tempted to skimp on liquids to combat swelling, but I need to drink plenty of water because staying hydrated actually helps prevent fluid retention. While a certain amount of edema in my lower extremities is normal during pregnancy, excessive swelling may be a sign of a serious condition called preeclampsia.

Be sure to call my doctor if I have severe or sudden swelling of my feet or ankles, more than slight swelling of my hands, swelling in mhy face, or puffiness around my eyes. But so far, I was doing good and looks good for being on my 23 weeks now.

Movie Lovers on The Sorcerer's Apprentice...

Based on the book, Horvath (Alfred Molina) and Drake (Toby Kebbell) plot to restore Morgana Le Fay (Alice Krige) to power, master sorcerer Balthazar Blake (Nicolas Cage) makes physics student Dave Stutle (Jay Baruchel) his apprentice, teaching him enough magic to save the world from sure ruin. Also featuring Monica Bellucci, Teresa Palmer and Toby Kebbell, this whimsical fantasy is a live-action update of the beloved animated short from the 1940s, "Fantasia."

This story is pure family fun entertainment. It is good, but it could have been better if the main character, the "apprentice" wasn't the nerd. It is totally opposite of what I expected. Instead of a joke character, they could have played it straight. The Disney homage to the animated movie was cute (the mop scene), but needless and was off the mark. The movie had a lot of talent in it. Nicolas Cage was the best thing in it, although it did sport a well-rounded cast with Alfred Molina as Horvath. The disappointment was the lack of screen time of Alice Krige and Monica Bellucci.

The special effects will always be admired in this film, rather than (as always) a lack of a well progressing plot. Jay Baruchel plays a nerdy, obnoxious young man whom I thought to be a little but more annoying than he was supposed to be. Nicolas Cage always gets his own as he passes by with his charms on every film he lays his hands on. It would have been a whole lot more enjoyable if the story would have progressed slowly, enough for the message and events to sink in. But anyone will find this film as enjoyable as any other Disney film; it's good enough fun for any family.

On Couple's Corner is When We thought It's Over...

I've been pretty busy for these past two weeks due to my mother in law's passing, so now I'm so glad I'm back on track. I've been missing Couple's Corner too. I thought there might be some thing I need to do to make up some of the themes I missed. So, I decided to make a post anyway, though it was already too late for linking up.

On this week's theme is When We thought It's Over. It is all about our relationship where we thought it's finally over. Well, let me think of some circumstances which I thought our relationship will end.

One time, it was my husband's second visit to the Philippines. Actually, it was his second visit for our wedding. I think I already did shared about it about a couple times when it talks about our wedding in the Philippines. It was supposed to be his arrival day, yet he was only an hour late. I thought everything was over. He didn't arrived that he supposed to be. I was indeed scared of what might happen since everything was done. The wedding, the reception and all the stuff we needed for the wedding. It was just crazy to think all about those times and yet my groom will not arrive.

Second time, when we had a fight over something which was not actually our fault. It just makes everything worst where I was on the point of going back to the Philippines. It was crazy, I packed all my clothes and my son's and we're ready to go. Though, I don't have a plane ticket yet but I was decided. I thought it might be it. This is over and that scared me too! But, of course, my pride was lingering on...

So, I guess I have to share what happened next week then...

Need a new Cookware Sets

This may sound so embarrassing but since my husband and I got married last December of 2005, we never had a chance to buy new pan set. We don’t know why, but as far as I could remember, we only got two set of cookware sets from my mother in law and my sister. Since then we never even bother buying new ones knowing that our old ones, indeed, needs a replacement. However, I told my husband about it last two weeks ago, and we planned to go shopping next weekend for a new cookware set and some new pan set as well. We will basically get rid all of our old ones and replaced them with new ones we could find either online or in store at affordable prices.

Anyway, I can’t wait for next weekend for us to go shopping, so I went online and look for some new pan sets and I found one online. They’re stainless steel frying pan sets and they also have cookware set in black color. I was quite confused now since I was thinking of getting a non-stick cookware this time and made with aluminum. Yet, it always depends on our budget too. So, I guess, I have to talk to my husband about it.

Good thing I have found some ideas through the use of online store and now I was thinking maybe we could get some frying pan sets online and then the rest of the cookware will be at the nearby stores here in our area. 22 weeks of Pregnancy

By now, I see that there are some few signs of physical changes to my body. I felt my hormone levels increasing as well as some tenderness and some tingling in the breasts. I also experience some white discharge, but it was just normal I guess. I was totally free from morning sickness since I'm on my second trimester as well as freed from fatigue. It remains important to listen to my body. I will have increased the blood flow about 40 to 50% which I learned a while ago online. As the pregnancy progresses I have frequent urination which was irritating sometimes. As the months went by my baby will start pressing down on my bladder which could be expected as the days and weeks passes by.

However, I will expect to continue experiencing many physical and emotional changes in the course of my pregnancy. I may want to adjust the way I was eating and try to eat healthier. I would have to stay away from fried foods and processed foods, these can cause heartburn which I just felt maybe about twice on my whole first and second trimester which is good. I planned to take up some walks after a meal or swimming every week, but due to cold weather, it was so impossible unless I go to the mall or somewhere else warm.

It is also important to take my vitamins and attend every doctor’s appointment that I set. I also have to try to make these appointments that I could keep. It is important that I have my blood pressure checked at regular intervals too which I did since I have a blood pressure thing which my mother in law bought for me. I also make sure that my blood is checked as well. As long as everything is fine, my baby will continue to grow and develop. Motherhood is a blessing and I should be doing everything that I can in order to make sure that my pregnancy goes smoothly.

Petty Quarrels

This week on Couple's Corner is about our Petty Quarrels....

Before I answer the question, I also have a pop question inside my head, is it normal for every relationship with quarrel? Otherwise, I'm sure it is not normal for every relationship to have quarrel every now and then, right? I knew a lot of people that fights over just small things, even of what they wear, cook, spend on money, and even on how to discipline their kids. Some of them are just a light argument that sometimes leads to something insulting to their partner such as when they said something about it to friends and family.

As for me, I think it is normal for couple to fight over things that might need to do some repair. We are imperfect and I'm sure that sometimes things always not happened as what we wanted them to be. My husband and I for almost 7 years of marriage, I think I can only count about up to 10 terrible quarrels. Mostly, it is just petty quarrel too, not even major. I think there's only one major quarrel which was not even a fight because we did something, but it was caused by crazy neighbor we had when we were still renting an apartment about two years ago. It was just terrible. I think I scared him about twice of going back home during those quarrels we had. It was funny and child like acts, but sometimes it worked!

Sometimes, I argue and he argued back at me over small things of how he drives so crazy and just gives me headaches and stuff. When I acted crabby and cranky, I will just explode it to him and then he will get mad and never talked to me for the entire night. We do have some negligence when it comes to dealing of how we feel and how to get mad, but sometimes we have this feeling of being sorry and how easy it was for us to accept the fact that we're imperfect and only human which sometimes we made mistake and learn from it. I think it made us to be stronger and what to do next time.

Movie Lovers on Despicable Me...

This movie is all about the villainous Gru who lives up to his reputation as a despicable, deplorable and downright unlikable guy when he hatches a plan to steal the moon from the sky. But he has a tough time staying on task after three orphans land in his care.

"Despicable Me" is both touching and hilarious, and not just because of the little yellow minions. The three orphan girls with their strong personalities make for a lot of humor, as do the general social commentaries (what would it be like to live in a community with evil villains?). Also, keep an eye out for clever details (such as the Gru-ray player, named after the main character). I was moderately interested in seeing this movie and had the opportunity to see a sneak preview and was pleasantly surprised. The animation was amazing, the story was touching, and the humor catered to adults just as much as children.

In fact, Despicable Me is one of the funniest movies of the year so far. The laughs just keeping coming in this cute animated adventure. From the little girl who just wants a fluffy unicorn to the yellow minions that wreak havoc everywhere they go, Despicable Me is an hilarious ride from start to finish. It may not be the best animated movie you see this year, but it is certainly one of the funniest.

Last week on Couple's Corner is Our First Kiss Ever..

To make the story short, our first kiss ever was during our first meeting last October of 2004. Since I’m quite not a public display pro, I rather wait until we went to his hotel and kiss. Although, we hugged at the airport the first time we saw each other and held our hands, but I was not anticipating what my first kiss would be like.

Until we were alone at the hotel room where he asked me first to marry while showing the ring to me, then we hugged and kissed. It was a romantic kiss and it was somewhat wholesome because we never take off clothes or anything. We just enjoyed everything bit of it and to fulfill the eagerness of how we really love to do this with each other.

For two weeks of him being with me in my home country, we kissed all the time, though I shared with him one room, but we were sleeping on a separate bed. He was just a sweet man, very thoughtful. He respected me throughout his visit and never even bothers to touch me or anything, unless I get flirty…lol!

Well, it was a memorable experience for me. I never had been kissed before. I never had any experience of what kiss was really all about until that day! Yes, my husband was my first kiss! I had couple boyfriends before, but none of them got a kiss from me or otherwise. I don’t know maybe because I’m quite a very conservative person.

Anyway, it was special because the first person who kissed me became my man for the rest of my life. It was the memorable first kiss I would cherish forever!

This week on Monday Movie meme is all about Non-Existent Sequels...

It's been a while since I posted my last Monday movie meme and so glad now I'm back on track on this weekly meme.

As I go back, the theme was perfect for me! To be continued on this weekly meme can also be related to what movie is now been famous on sequel but not yet being shown or been shoot yet. Therefore, I wanted to share some of the movies that I anticipate for the next part.

1. The Golden Compass (2007) - This movie is a very strong beginning for the trilogy. Good action, good acting, good special effects. It was also good that they balanced the back story and story in such a way that it wasn't all build up for the next one. I thought it was a very good movie and the religious implications that everyone keeps talking about don't overshadow the quality of the film. This movie will never be a classic, but seeing it once isn't bad. There will definitely be sequels made since the ending is so open which I want now!

2. The Princess and the Frog (2009) - I wish they will make a sequence with this movie. I love the story and it was simply unique and this version of the fairy tale is absolutely delightful and well animated. So, I want to know what happen to young Princess Tiana and her prince!

21 weeks of Pregnancy

This week on my pregnancy I felt petty comfortable. I'm not too big yet, and the usual discomforts associated with early pregnancy are, for the most part, gone. I felt good, relax and enjoy every bit of my spare time while I can because the third trimester may bring with it a new crop of complaints which I already expecting since this is my second pregnancy so I already knew what will happen.

That's not to say I won't have some minor glitches to deal with now. But, I noticed a little bump of my forehead for these past few days, it might be the cause of increased oil production that may contribute to the development (or worsening) of acne. If that's the case, I would be diligent about washing well with a gentle soap or cleanser twice a day this time, and make sure that any moisturizer or make-up I use is oil-free which I'm not sure about. So, I rather not put make up to make sure. I don't really take any oral acne medications — some are very hazardous during pregnancy — or use any topical acne products without first checking with my practitioner.

Anyway, I also be more prone to varicose veins now too which I was definitely worried about. As my pregnancy progresses, there's increasing pressure on the veins in my legs; higher progesterone levels, which may cause the walls of my veins to relax, can make the problem worse. I'm also likely to get varicose veins if other family members have them. Also, they tend to get worse with each successive pregnancy and as I age. So, in order to help prevent or minimize varicose veins, I have to exercise daily, prop up my feet and legs whenever possible, sleep on my left side, and wear maternity support hose as much as possible.

Anyway, I also love to hit the garage sales soon which my husband seemed doesn't approve of, but I was so excited to find something like swing, bouncer, high chair seat, or maybe some infant tummy time stuff.

20 weeks of Pregnancy

I've hit the halfway mark in my pregnancy. The top of my uterus is about level with my belly button, and I've likely gained around 10 pounds now, but last time I went to my OB, I only gained 7 pounds. But, I will expect to gain another pound or so each week from now on. (I started my pregnancy underweight, therefore, I may need to gain a bit more). To make sure I'm getting enough iron, a mineral that's used primarily to make hemoglobin (the part of my red blood cells that carries oxygen).

During my pregnancy, my body needs more iron to keep up with my expanding blood volume, as well as for my growing baby and the placenta. Red meat is one of the best sources of iron for pregnant women. Poultry (especially the dark meat) and shellfish also contain iron. Some common non-meat sources of iron include legumes, soy-based products, spinach, prune juice, raisins, and iron-fortified cereals.

This is the day that most people had been waiting for, an extra special celebration for couple’s for their love to each other. Some people were seemed anti-Valentine’s for some reason because they had been in anger over something. I think some of them had bad memories on Valentine’s Day or what, or maybe they were just don’t like the idea that some people were going to have an extra special thing to do for their loved ones. As for me, this Valentine’s Day, or Heart’s day is not only for couple, but for people who had family and friends on their lives.

However, on this day, I wanted to greet my one and only love, my dear husband on this Heart’s day that as always, I’m thankful for being his wife and for him being my husband. I never knew what love meant until he touched my life. He gives life its self-meaning and purpose, with the whisper of his name. My heart longs only for the sound of his voice, and the touch of his silky, soft hand. I never knew life could be so full. I never knew love could be so real. I never knew what happiness was until I knew his love, with every breath I breathe, with every beat of my heart, my eternal soul agrees...I never knew live until I knew his love.

This week on Couple's Corner is First Time He Told Me He loves me..

This is going to be the most memorable of our relationship as a couple because since we met online and just started knowing each other. It was not unusual for this type of relationship to be not on a love and courtship relationship right away. Since when he found me on a dating website, I already stated on my profile that I was looking for a long term relationship that might lead to a possible marriage if I find the right man that would love me unconditionally. So, as the days went by since I received his first letter, we started our correspondence through emails every day, then he started calling me every morning too my time.

Basically all we did was sharing our personal information, what we love to do, and what things and what we really are! We’re primarily on a getting to know each other stage of our relationship. He had been interested with me for a long time. I think I remember he started emailing me a lot, but finally send me a postal mail after not receiving anything from me due to my forgotten email. Within 5 days of our communication, he started telling me how he cared and thinks about me all the time, then we started to call each other sweet names already.

Anyway, the moment of telling me that he loves me over the phone happened almost a week of knowing each other. Everything happened so quickly which I felt that I knew him so well! Then, a day after he proposed to me over the phone for marriage which he made a hint that he has an important thing to tell me.

Matching Game

When it comes to play time with my son, we never missed to play a matching game. It seemed like he’s addicted to this game or just love to play this game with me. Every time I asked him about what he wants to play, he always says it with excitement. So, we ended up playing it for almost every day. I never argue with him every time he wants to play matching game because I know that it was good for him as well. Today is somewhat a very special day for me and my husband since this is the day we found out our second baby’s gender. Even though, he was not with me during my ultrasound appointment due to his work, but he was so supportive. He can’t wait to call me even for me to let him know what happened.

Actually, I decided to make the gender thingy to be a surprise! But, the night before my ultrasound appointment, I was in doubt. I felt like I wanted to know. So, the next morning I was not decided yet, if I really wanted to know our baby’s gender, until I came to the hospital and to the ultrasound room. When I saw my baby on the screen, I was so happy and didn’t notice I was smiling.

When the ultrasound technician asked me if I wanted to know my baby’s gender, I was not in doubt. I’m not even reluctant to say yes I do! I was so excited. It takes a while for her to tell me due to the fact that she needed a lot of measurements and searching as well. Then, 30 minutes after, she showed me the evidence, though, she assured me that it might be not 100% accurate, but she thought it was a girl and even showed me the labia which were two white lines between the legs of the baby.

You decide if it’s a girl or a boy? Though, I had this photo for my keep and even saw different photos of her showing her gender, maybe, for about three times during the test, but still I was quite skeptical and curious as to how accurate are at 20 weeks for finding out the sex of baby.

Anyway, when I told my husband about me of can't able to wait for it to be a surprise! I told him that I have to find out! He got so excited and wanted to know right away! I told him that it was a girl and he was so happy! I think we were both happy about it since we always wanted to have two kids, one boy and a girl, of course. Then, we ended up finding a girl's name for the baby in which we are not decided yet.

Well, as of now, I was so happy knowing that I will be having a baby girl, but if something changes occur sometime soon, well I guess, it’s acceptable because she or he was still our new bundle of joy!

Love to Dress Up?

I still vividly remember those times when my sister and I were little. I think my eldest sister was about 12 years old and I was about 7. We did a lot of things when it comes to playing at home. We played pretend plays a lot such as selling stuff, cooking, and even shopping. We also did a lot of things together as well such as making toys especially paper dolls. My sister was so good at it. She will make a doll our of a cigarette card board and then form it as a doll with a perfect body. Then, she will use the paper doll to make pants, skirts, blouses, and even dresses. It was so cute. I could still remember those moments until now. It was so special.

Well, those are the times when internet was not available yet. Unlike these days, a lot of young girls probably enjoyed being on the computer all the time playing those Dress Up Games online. This week on Couple's Corner is all about our first Sweet Moments.

Since this is February which means a Love month, then I will have an excuse to share our sweet moments again.

At first, I was skeptical about finding a love through internet, but I knew a lot of friends who are successful on their marriages to foreigners, so I tried my luck. Well, it’s been almost 7 years ago since I started my chance online, I put my photos on one of the dating website where some people might not be so compliance about. But, I was determined. I went through ups and downs with every relationship, until one time where I received a postal letter from Joel, there it all begun. We started chatting online, talk over the phone, and even send emails to each other every weekend. It was so sweet moments of our lives since everything went so smoothly.

Actually, I don’t care if I married to a foreigner or not because before I met him I just broke off my relationship with a Filipino boyfriend. It was a coincidence or what? But, for me, he was the one. I knew he was the one because you can feel it when the guy likes you, a lot! He was just so into me! Then, he even proposed to me after a month of me knowing him. Maybe because we talked over the phone and on online chatting everyday which seemed we knew each other for so long. Then, of course, I didn’t say anything because I wanted to see him in person first. Who knows, he might be not what I thought about, you know not physical, but we’re talking about characters/attitudes here.

Then, after three months of correspondence with him, he finally came to the Philippines to visit me and my family. Then, it was the time he proposed to me again. I was truly a KILIG moment for me because my feelings at that time were unexplainable. I knew he was the one for me and I already loved him!
We got engaged and then got married in the Philippines after two months of preparation. It was unforgettable experience for me since I never had this feeling before to be with someone you love. I was happy, excited, and even thankful. When he went back to US, I never even have a fear because I knew he will come back someday for me and he did! It was the sweetest memoir of our love story.

19 weeks of Pregnancy

Now, I'm thinking of being big now! I'll start growing even faster in the weeks to come I'm sure. As a result, I may notice some achiness in my lower abdomen or even an occasional brief, stabbing pain on one or both sides — especially when I shift position or at the end of an active day which I don't like at all. Most likely, this is round ligament pain. The ligaments that support my uterus are stretching to accommodate its increasing weight. This is nothing to be alarmed about, but I will call my practitioner if the pain continues even when I'm resting or becomes severe.

I may be noticing some skin changes, too. My palms of my hands are red too. Nothing to worry about — it's from the extra estrogen as what I found online. I also have patches of darkened skin caused by a temporary increase in pigment and even some acne. When these darker patches appear on my upper lip, cheeks, and forehead, they're called chloasma, or the "mask of pregnancy." I may also notice some darkening of my nipples, freckles, scars, underarms, inner thighs, and vulva, oh these are nightmares! That darkened line running from my belly button to my pubic bone is called the linea nigra, or "dark line" which I anticipated for the days to come!

These darkened spots will probably fade shortly after delivery which I experienced before with my first born. In the meantime, good thing there's no sun here in Michigan since it's winter, so I don't need to protect myself from the sun, which intensifies the pigment changes.

Well, next week will be my ultrasound appointment and still battling if I'm going to find out my baby's gender or not. I don't know, I'm quite confused here.
Oh, well...

Problem about Home Water System

One day after the snow storm we had last week, I didn’t noticed that there’s something wrong in the living room wall corner. It has a crack wall which amazes me due to the fact that how come it cracked. God thing there’s no water coming inside from it, but there’s a cold air coming through it from outside. So, I called my husband about it and he called his father too. Then, after two days, someone from the condominium property visit to take a look from it. I was so relieved since then they already knew about it.

Now, there’s another problem again in the house. The water from the laundry room was blocked, it won’t drain at all, I was thinking about if there’s water damage in basement now. The drainage for some reason was stopped so I had to unplug the cord and put it on again in order to reset it. But, I was so curious about the water in the laundry sink though, it smell like laundry soap but not our soap. I bet it was one of our neighbor’s. I’m not sure, yet since the condominium has four separate homes, but they are all connected to one water system. I’m sure there’s something wrong with it. I wish we can contact water damage in basement austin now in order to make it all work better next time. But, I’m sure water damage repair costs austin would costs a lot of money.

As they battle bears, porcupines and each other on their journey, they discover they're falling in love. This animated film also features the voices of Christina Ricci and Dennis Hopper.

This is by far the best movie I've ever seen! It starts out when Kate and Humphrey are pups and Kate leaves to go to alpha school. Then when she comes back in the spring hunting caribou the Eastern wolf pack tries to take their caribou. Later on Kate overhears her father talking to the Eastern pack's alpha about her marrying his son, Garth. But when they gather for the midnight howl, Kate flees from Garth's awful, bird-killing howling and stumbles into Humphrey.

Right about then, people come, tranquilize them, and take them to Idaho to repopulate. They befriend two friendly waterfowl and make their way back to Jasper Park, Canada on the way hitching rides in cars, battling bears, sneaking onto trains, and falling in love with each other. When they get back to their packs, Kate plans on marrying Garth when she realizes she can't. But then Garth revealed he's fallen in love with Kate's omega sister, Lily. Both their fathers disapproved when the caribou suddenly start stampeding towards them. And when their fathers get stuck in the middle of the stampede, Kate and Humphrey come to help them when a caribou kicks Kate and Humphrey uses himself to cover her. Once the stampede is over everyone thinks Kate is dead. But then she wakes up and Kate gets to marry Humphrey while Garth marries Lily.

Hilariously funny, filled with action, adventure, and romance. It was a great for all ages! This was an animation success! The voices were perfect for the characters as well, and I really liked the howling at the moon on the train scene. Awesome!

18 weeks of Pregnancy

This week of my pregnancy hunger always kicked into me. An increase in appetite is pretty common about now which I'm kind a scared as well because of gaining too ,much weight. Therefore, I make it count by choosing meals and snacks that are rich in nutrients instead of empty calories (chips, French fries, candy, and other sweets). Also, a bigger, more comfortable clothes are a must now as my appetite and waistline grow.

My cardiovascular system is undergoing dramatic changes, and during this trimester my blood pressure will probably be lower than usual. I don't spring up too fast from a lying or sitting position or else, I might feel a little dizzy.

From now on, when I do lie down, it's best to lie on my side — or at least partly tilted to one side. (When I lie flat on your back, my uterus can compress a major vein, leading to decreased blood return to my heart which is not good.) I tried placing a pillow behind my or under my hip or upper leg for comfort which helped a lot.

I haven't already had a second-trimester ultrasound, I'll get one this coming Monday. This painless procedure helps my practitioner check how my baby's growing, screen for certain birth defects, check the placenta and umbilical cord, determine whether the due date I'm working with is accurate. During the exam,I will see my baby moving around or sucking his/her thumb which excites me so much. I wish my husband is here with me but he was still in Texas until next month.

Well, I'm just going to get a print out of my baby's sonogram photos and send it to him. I'm so excited!

Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

Movie Lovers on Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole.

The movie is all about a barn owl kidnapped from his peaceful forest home. His abductors bring him to an orphanage, where he must train to become a soldier. Despite the toil and hardships, Soren makes friends, and together the young birds attempt to escape. Based on Kathryn Lasky's popular children's books which are the inspiration for this captivating animated feature about Soren.

The film is epic light. There's definitely the sense that everything happening on screen could be awesome, it just never truly is. In fact, more often than not, its somewhat boring. The movie was pretty cool visually and it's got that Disney story line. People are gonna call this film dark, but I think they forget how creepy old school Disney is. This really isn't that bad. By far this is my favorite owl movie of the year.

The worst part of the film is the action, though. Owls vs owls is very hard to watch for the simple reason that everyone looks the same. There aren't distinguishing features for either the good owls or the bad ones. For a film whose action sequences are meant to be marvels, this is not good. I will say, though, that the voice action is serviceable. This is a children movie and so I suppose they didn't want it too be too scary but frankly I think much of it is a bit scary for young kids anyway. Instead the movie is constantly reigning itself in when things get intense. The entire thing is stunning and world it creates is fascinating.

Absolutely adorable. I loved this movie! Digger is the best, in my opinion. Recommend this for kids of all ages. I cannot wait to see what comes next...

On 17 Weeks Pregnancy

Now, I started to feel a bit off balance as my belly grows, my center of gravity changes, so I begin to occasionally feel a little unsteady on my feet which seemed so weird. I tried to avoid situations with a high risk of falling and now I was always careful going up and down on the stairs. I also wear low-heeled shoes to reduce my risk of taking a tumble; trauma to my abdomen that could be dangerous for me and my baby. I'll also want to be sure to buckle up when I'm in a car which I always to do— keep the lap portion of the seat belt under my belly, drawn snugly across my hips, and also use the shoulder harness, which should fit snugly between my breasts.

I also notice my eyes becoming drier. Using over-the-counter lubricating drops may help, but it always depend because I'm also wearing contact lenses. If my contact lenses become uncomfortable, I always try wearing them for shorter stretches of time which sucks because then I can't see anything then except when closer. If I still have discomfort, I would probably get an eyeglasses and switch to it until after I give birth.

Oh well, I'm getting so excited as well for the next couple weeks!

It’s finally the end of the month of January and so this week on Couple’s Corner is all about Promises! What we promised to keep our marriage intact and successful.
Yesterday, I went out with my sister in law to go shopping together. After we did shopping, we went out to eat some late lunch at one of the fine restaurant here in our area. We talked a lot of stuff and then, we shared about our marriages. It was fun when you have someone to talk to. We talked other people’s marriages and how everyone ended up in divorce or separation.

Then, my sister in law asked me if my marriage was fine and if we don’t have any problems. I never think of anything so I said “no” and I meant it. But, after I said it, it made me think and thoroughly thinks about what I just answered. I know for sure, we don’t have any problems on our marriage. I was so glad after the thought. Then, I shared about every marriage wasn’t perfect, though our marital and intimate relationship as a couple was excellent, but there’s always lacking in terms of financial situation. This is the only one problem.

Therefore, to make our marriage as it is despite the fact that sometimes financial difficulties get in the way, if we just have love in our hearts and think that as long as we have each other, we can get through it all and we will survive.
We also think about budget planning and it always depend on us if how we spend the money. If the other was overspending, then it could affect us all. I think the important thing here is, to be sensitive and to think about others. To spend wisely as what we always promised to do.

Aside from financial things, we also promised to be more romantic. It was about three weeks ago, when my husband was seemed not so romantic with me despite our distance. I think that made me feel so unimportant because we were far from each other and so it is so difficult to show how we felt toward each other. So, we need to communicate more romantically and to show it by messages. Well, I felt so sad about it until we got to the point where he noticed I was seemed sad. I told him how I feel and after that it changes everything. He admits that he didn’t show his love enough to let me know how much he loved me. It was so special. I think it is important to show more of how we appreciate and love each other especially during long distance affairs because when we were together, we always hug and so intimate and when we were apart, it seemed like we’re not used to it. So, now we didn’t promised really, but we rather do it.

Lastly, I will promise to be less cranky and crabby towards him whenever he’s around the house. I should be more extra careful and just rather keep quiet to avoid hurting the people around me. If it’s family time or cuddle time, I should leave whatever I did on the computer and went spend time with him while watching TV or if it’s bed time. Be more attentive toward each other, be more loving, and mostly to just spend more time with each other as well.

Movie Lovers on Going the Distance...

The movie is all about the new couple Erin (Drew Barrymore) and Garrett (Justin Long) who doesn't want their summer fling to end, but Erin must move across the country to finish school. As the bi-coastal lovers try to keep their relationship going, they experience the tricky challenges of living long-distance. It reminds me of my dating relationship before with my former boyfriend, now my husband. We met online and this movie just remind me of it of how separation can really been a struggle. I can totally relate to it.

Anyway, Going the Distance is a romantic comedy. It is also raunchy at times and, no doubt, will offend some who watch the movie. From smoking pot with a bong to liberal use of profanity as an adjective, to a vivid discussion of sex acts, there is certainly plenty of opportunity to offend someone--or everyone. It's the funniest movie and so lovable it's give you a lesson on falling in love and follow your heart. I had the feeling that its good ending, and I knew that long distance is the hardest relationship ever. Its not the easiest relationship to have, and this film gives a good example of that. Its a fun flick that will surely make you smile and laugh.

Barrymore and Long were convincing as a couple struggling with the difficulties of keeping their love alive while living on opposite coasts. This part of the storyline was handled deftly and realistically, touching on issues such as trust and sexual frustration. There are many laugh-out-loud moments and a constant stream of humor throughout. Much of the humor is adult in nature, but works well in this film. However, the scatological humor was overdone and dragged the film down a bit, at times lowering this to a lesser quality comedy. Overall, though, the film was very entertaining and highly enjoyable.

This week on Couple's Corner is Why Bad Habits Are Hard to Break?

At my Psychology class last semester, I learned that some people had difficulties breaking bad habits due to the fact that habits formed a familiar pathways which makes it more difficult to break. It is hard especially if that habit has been practiced for years and years. If we make changes because we wanted to get rid of the bad habit, it triggers our brain to something we're not used to.

Therefore, it is just so hard to break. I think it also works on vice versa. For instance, if we're not a smoker and then we smoke, then it changes a usual pattern that can lead to sometimes breaking the habit due to withdrawals, maybe.

As for me, I have some usual habits too that I thought I could change, but once I'm there and in need of a strong will that's where I failed. Just two weeks ago, I have tried to break one bad habit of not spending the money and yet planned to saved it. Guess what? I didn't. I rather spent the money when I went shopping one time. Then, I felt so bad about it. Oh well...I thought, maybe next time. I even think about shredding my debit cards in order to keep myself from spending.

About my husband, he had bad habits too by drinking too much coffee which means more caffeine. It was too bad since when he stopped drinking coffee, he will get a headache. He was eventually addicted to it which is not good for health. He even drink pop soda too which triggers the addiction more. I know he wanted to stop but the withdrawals is overwhelming. I think he needs some medical attention. I hope not.

Repeat, repeat, repeat the new behavior — the same routine at the same time of day. Resolved to exercise? Doing it at the same time of the morning, rather than fitting it in haphazardly, makes the stratum recognize the habit.
